At 19:20 on September 27, Xinghua Chemical experienced a problem with the air supply for the bag filter of Boiler No. 2; as a result, the north-side air separation unit and Boiler No. 2 were shut down, triggering an early start to a comprehensive maintenance campaign. The maintenance work focused on the flue gas whitening system of chemical industry boilers, with adjustments made in a timely manner in accordance with the policy banning the transport of hazardous chemicals for the 14th National Games. Due to the long duration and complex nature of this maintenance work, and given the limited number of technical personnel available in various departments and workshops, shift workers were promptly mobilized to form strong maintenance teams. Rest days such as National Day and weekends were waived so that these workers could assist the maintenance staff by carrying out tasks such as pressure relief, gas replacement, sample collection and analysis, and the installation of blind flanges in their respective systems. At 6:00 on October 15, the smoke whitening operation was completed, and the boiler was started up to increase its temperature and pressure ； At 13:00, the southern air separation unit was started up ； At 9:00 on the 17th, Furnace C in the gasification unit was ignited and heated up ； At 11:00, the air separation unit in the northern area was started up ； At 2:00 on the 20th, the low-pressure nitrogen from the air separation unit was delivered in compliance with specifications ； At 6 o’clock, the air separation nitrogen compressor started up and high-pressure nitrogen was supplied; immediately thereafter, the various units at Xinghua Chemical, the methamine plant, the ethanol plant, and the caustic soda plant entered the phases of purging, pressure testing for leaks, and raising the temperature with nitrogen. At 12:00 on the 26th, feeding began for the ethanol dimethyl ether process; at 12:00 on the 28th, methamine was fed, and the other units are gradually resuming operations.
