Located in the Zhundong Economic and Technological Development Zone of Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture in Xinjiang, Luan An Guo Tai Xinhua is a large-scale coal chemical production base established by the group in Xinjiang; it is one of the key projects in Xinjiang as well as one of the key assistance projects from Shanxi Province. Covering an area of 4,480 mu, with a total investment of 11.3 billion yuan, it features a 200,000-ton/year methanol plant, a 200,000-ton/year BDO plant, a 60,000-ton/year PTMEG plant, a 400,000-ton/year calcium carbide plant, 2×350MW captive power plants, as well as related utility and auxiliary facilities. It was fully built and put into operation by the end of 2018. As a result, it manages to significantly reduce various energy-related indicators, thereby creating an environment for sustainable, healthy, and high-quality development with a focus on sustainability. In 2021, the company’s total energy consumption was approximately 1.58 million tons of standard coal. The energy consumption per unit of calcium carbide was 960.37 kgce/t, while that for BDO was 980.61 kgce/t. The energy consumption per unit of methanol was 1,529.2 kgce/t. The company met all the energy consumption targets set by the group. Meanwhile, the company’s production of BDO, PTMEG, calcium carbide, methanol, and electricity exceeded its annual targets, resulting in a significant improvement in economic performance; its annual revenue reached 6 billion yuan.
