Signing of Changsheng Gasification Co., Ltd.’s 250,000 tons/year methanol production project from coke oven gas / Author/Source: Date: 2022-02-28 Clicks: 21 On the morning of February 26, the first phase of the 2022 “Three Batches” initiative for development zones across the province was held via video conference, with the Jinzhong venue located in Jieyou City. At the signing ceremony, a total of 12 projects were signed in Jinzhong City. Among them, the Jiexiu Economic and Technological Development Zone signed a contract with Shanxi Xintai Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. for a technical upgrade project involving a 1×1860 m3 blast furnace and related facilities, and signed another contract with Jiexiu Changsheng Gasification Co., Ltd. for a project to produce methanol from coking oven gas at a capacity of 250,000 tons per year. The Changsheng Gasification Co., Ltd. project, which has an annual production capacity of 250,000 tons of methanol along with 1.8 million tons of coke production, is a key project in Jinzhong City. It also constitutes an important part of Jieyou City’s efforts to develop a coke production industry cluster on a scale of tens of millions of tons in the entire province. Upon completion of the entire project, it is expected to generate annual sales revenue of 5.736 billion yuan, pay 580 million yuan in taxes, and create over 2,000 job opportunities. By then, Changsheng Company will have the capacity to produce 3.1 million tons of coke, 7 million tons of washed coal, 300,000 tons of coal tar, 250,000 tons of methanol, 70,000 tons of synthetic ammonia, and 400 million cubic meters of hydrogen. Its annual sales volume will reach 10 billion yuan, and it will pay 1 billion yuan in taxes annually, making it the largest coking enterprise in Jiexiu and even in Jinzhong.
