On September 14, 2021, the signing ceremony for the EPC general contract of the IGCC distributed energy carbon-neutralization application demonstration project and the green transformation and upgrading project for ammonia synthesis at Yingcheng Hongyi Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. was held in Yingcheng. Project Overview According to the information published by Hubei Xiaohuan Environmental Technology Company, the Yingcheng Hongyi Chemical IGCC distributed energy carbon neutrality application and green transformation upgrade project for ammonia synthesis – that is, the gas-powered generation (IGCC) and ammonia synthesis industry upgrading project – is an important initiative aimed at implementing the concept of green development, accelerating the development of a circular economy, and responding to the \"dual carbon\" policies ; The completion and operation of this project will have a significant impact on the development of the city’s circular economy as well as on environmental protection. The gas power generation (IGCC) and synthetic ammonia industry upgrading project utilizes a four-nozzle gasifier developed by East China University of Science and Technology, with the syngas produced being used to manufacture 400,000 tons per year of synthetic ammonia. The main production units include air separation, coal gasification, carbon monoxide conversion, acid gas removal, liquid nitrogen washing for gas purification, syngas compression, ammonia synthesis, refrigeration, sulfur recovery, and flare systems. A new set of gas turbine IGCC power generation facilities will be built to complement Hubei Shuanghuan’s original SHELL gasification unit. The auxiliary projects are carried out through the renovation and expansion of the existing facilities at the old factory. The design of the water-coal slurry gasification system features an effective gas volume of 102,080 m3/h (CO+H2), an operating flexibility range of 60%–110%, and a gasification pressure of 6.5 MPa. Yingcheng Hongyi Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. was established by Hubei Shuanghuan Technology Co., Ltd. together with three capital contributors: Hubei Hongtai Huachuang Innovation Industry Investment Co., Ltd., Hubei Yihua Group Co., Ltd., and Hubei Gaocheng Fengfeng Entrepreneurship Investment Co., Ltd. It is responsible for implementing projects aimed at upgrading the gas-fired power generation (IGCC) and ammonia synthesis industries.
