The Public Vehicle Workshop of Kaiyue Chemical successfully completed the technical renovation project for the disposal of concentrated wastewater. Author/Source: Kaiyue Voice. Date: April 27, 2022. Clicks: 18. Since the beginning of this year, the Public Vehicle Workshop of Kaiyue Chemical has focused on making use of existing resources and implementing small-scale technical improvements as ways to reduce costs and increase efficiency; it has taken various measures based on practical considerations to ensure that such efforts yield real results. Recently, the public vehicle workshop successfully completed the technical upgrade project to reduce concentrated water using a circulating water discharge system. It is reported that when the recycled water discharge system is in operation, the backwash water from the multi-media filter and the overflow water from the ultrafiltration unit are sent to the industrial park’s sewage treatment plant along with the concentrated water generated by the system. A fee of 20 yuan per cubic meter must be paid to dispose of this concentrated water at the industrial park’s sewage treatment plant. To reduce concentrated wastewater discharge and save costs, the public utility workshop prepared a work plan in advance and organized its efforts carefully. It held repeated discussions with the technical staff from Goreun Company, the contractor for the circulating water wastewater treatment system, and decided to optimize the process operation reasonably while ensuring a stable supply of water for the entire plant’s production needs. As a result, it was decided to change the cleaning method for the multi-media filters and to recycle the ultrafiltration wastewater through technical upgrades. Since the completion of the project, the circulating water discharge system has reduced the amount of concentrated wastewater discharged by 24 cubic meters per day, saving 480 yuan in costs related to the treatment of this wastewater. It has also allowed 12 cubic meters of ultrafiltration overflow water to be reused, resulting in savings of 120 yuan in costs associated with purchasing external raw water. In total, this leads to annual savings of over 200,000 yuan in water treatment costs.
Currently, electrochemical technology can achieve a water saving and drainage reduction effect of around 60 percent
