Regarding the threaded connection of the electrical connectors of pressure transmitters

All the pressure transmitters used in our company are from joint-venture brands, and all the electrical connection interfaces for orders are of NPT and M types. In China, the standard connection thread for explosion-proof flexible hoses is generally G. How do you guys solve this issue? Option 1: Add an M20*1.5-G1/2 threaded fitting at the electrical interface of the pressure transmitter. Option 2: When ordering the explosion-proof flexible tube, specify that the connection thread should be NPT or M. Option 3: There is a better solution; please advise
All types of explosion-proof hoses are available; as long as you request them, they can be ordered. Commonly used ones are M20x1.5 and 1/2NPT.
Just follow Plan B of yours! Confirm the electrical interface specifications of your transmitter or other instruments; for example, the transmitter’s interface specification is 1/2 NPTF (female thread), and the required length of the flexible tube is 800 mm ； If the other end has an M20×1.5F (internal thread) connection and the hazardous area is classified as Zone IIB, then your purchase specifications should be: explosion-proof flexible tube, material: rubber, length: 800 mm ； Specification: 1/2NPTM (external thread) 0/M20×1.5M (external thread) ； Protection rating: IP65 ； Diameter: DN15 (determined based on the outer diameter of the cable). Under these conditions, the manufacturer can supply you with the goods. The execution standard can also be specified.
The most troublesome aspect is that domestic instruments and meters mainly use M20*1.5 threads, while those from abroad can use either M or NPT threads. For explosion-proof hoses, G threads are generally used to facilitate operation; but after some thought, it was decided to continue using adapters anyway
Thank you, as our company’s procurement process is rather complicated; generally, a standard form is used when submitting procurement plans. I still had an internal machining center do some work to convert G threads into NPT threads
Let’s use the same model next time we review the drawings and place orders; NPT threads are generally used.
Can this be considered a problem too? I’m well aware that any solution will do; there’s no difference between complex and simple or reasonable ones. Your real problem is having to pay the price for your own mistakes! Not telling others the model and specifications of the items one wants to buy, not checking the details, and then blaming others – is there anyone who buys things in this way? It’s like ordering food by saying “whatever”.
