What is the purpose of the exciter attached to the diesel hydrogenation press? Please, expert!
Is it a synchronous motor? Is it to transfer direct current?
I don’t know; I’m not very familiar with it. The motor is a increased-safety type brushless excited synchronous motor.
In diesel hydrogenation and hydrocracking units, most of the hydrogen compressors are reciprocating compressors; their drive motors are synchronous motors (brushless excitation), with the exciter located at the end of the motor, and power is delivered to the rotor via rotary rectifier elements.
Does the exciter provide direct current before starting the motor? Can it be understood this way?
Regarding the issue of startup, there are currently two methods: asynchronous startup and synchronous startup. In either case, the exciter is used to supply excitation current to the rotor, thereby bringing the motor’s speed up to the synchronous speed
