Can the rotors of horizontal and vertical motors be interchanged?

Dear sea friends, can the rotors of horizontal motors and vertical motors be used interchangeably? One of the company’s vertical motors has a damaged rotor, and they want to replace it by taking one from a horizontal motor, as the models are the same.
The small sizes should be the same; the bearing configurations for larger sizes should differ
It still depends on whether there is a universal option specified in the instructions. Logically, since the axial force and the radial force act in different directions, different types of bearings are required. It’s best to consult the manufacturer. Or consult your superior department to get permission to carry it out again.

The rotor should be universal, but I’m curious – how can the rotor get damaged? I’ve hardly ever seen this kind of failure
