Article 6.1.10 of the Fire Protection Code: When an indoor temporary high-pressure fire water supply system relies solely on pressure stabilizing pumps for pressure regulation, and it is used in buildings with a designed flow rate for outdoor fire hydrants exceeding 20 L/s or in residential buildings with a height greater than 54 m, the power supply or backup power for the fire pumps must meet the following requirements: 1 The fire pumps shall be powered in accordance with the requirements for Class I loads; if such power supply is not possible, diesel generator sets shall be used as backup power; 2 For standby pumps in industrial buildings, diesel fire pump systems are recommended. According to this passage, we are currently using only a pressure-stabilizing pump at a flow rate of 20 L/s, while the backup pump is a diesel pump; does the main pump still need to be classified as a first-class load? The regulations for the petrochemical industry are different; according to the Design Fire Protection Standards for Petrochemical Enterprises, GB50160-2008 (2018 edition), section 9.1 on fire protection power supply, power distribution, and general requirements, 9.1.1 states that the electrical load of fire pump rooms in large and medium-sized petrochemical enterprises should be classified as a first-class load.

Clause 9.1.1 of the \"GB 50160-2008(2018 Edition) Code for Fire Protection Design of Petrochemical Enterprises\" specifies that in large and medium-sized petrochemical enterprises, due to their large scale of operations or the fact that process flows may lead to explosions, fires, or significant economic losses in the event of a power outage, the electricity required for production is classified as a first-class load. Given the importance of fire pumps, electric fire pumps in such enterprises are also supplied with power as part of the first-class load, in order to maximize the reliability of their operation. So, there’s no room for negotiation for large petrochemical companies – they must use first-class load requirements!
I mainly have two questions: 1. Since non-petroleum companies now have diesel pumps, is the main pump still considered a first-class load? 2. Since petrochemical companies already have diesel backup pumps, is it still necessary to consider generator capacity for fire pumps? The main issue is that the fire pump is too large; when converting it to a generator, the power required for the fire pump has to be increased by two to three times.
