Are insulation and voltage withstanding tests conducted on 10KV high-voltage distribution cabinets before they are put into use? So, after 5 years of operation, all the parameters of the distribution cabinet are normal – is it then necessary to conduct another preventive test? There are actually many aspects to this experiment. Which one do you think is really necessary to carry out?
For 10KV high-voltage distribution cabinets, it is necessary to conduct tests on the characteristics of the circuit breaker switches (bounce during opening and closing, synchronization, low voltage tripping during opening, low voltage tripping during closing), tests on circuit resistance, inspections of the insulation and resistance of the opening and closing coils, inspections of the high-voltage contacts, AC withstanding voltage tests, volt-ampere characteristic tests of the current transformers inside the cabinet, insulation tests for the transformers, withstanding voltage tests for the transformers, and tests on surge arresters (zinc oxide surge arresters are tested for a leakage current of 0.75 times the rated value, while valve-type surge arresters are tested for their breakdown voltage)
Personal advice is very necessary; normally, it should be given once a year.
