There are two common types of pneumatic valves: one is cylinder-shaped, and the other is diaphragm-type. The former is usually not used. It’s better for the latter to have some waterproofing in place. It has been encountered that water accumulation and freezing at the spring end of the diaphragm head can cause the valve spring to break or prevent the valve from moving properly, and may even damage the equipment; this is provided for reference.

If the locator has a relatively low protection level, it can be given waterproof protection; the valve itself does not require any protection.
