One type is permanent poisoning, and the other is temporary poisoning.
There are two types: 1. If the chemical reaction between the poison and the active components of the catalyst is reversible, or no chemical reaction occurs and the poison merely adsorbs on the surface, thereby reducing the catalyst’s activity only by delaying the renewal of the active sites, then the catalyst’s activity can be restored in whole or in part through appropriate purification. This type of poisoning is referred to as “temporary poisoning” or “reversible poisoning”. 2. If the poison undergoes a chemical reaction (irreversibly) with the substance that constitutes the active center, turning into an inactive substance, it is considered \"permanent poisoning\" or \"irreversible poisoning\".
