After the hydrogenation unit was shut down, and given that the shutdown period was expected to be long, nitrogen was used for purging while keeping the maximum temperature in the bed at no more than 100°C. I would like to ask the experts here: why is displacement carried out at a temperature of less than 100°C?
I’m not entirely sure; we usually start thermal nitrogen dehydrogenation at 250 degrees. Perhaps you are doing this to protect the compressor – a lower temperature allows the cycle hydrogen compressor to be stopped, and as the temperature drops, the system pressure also decreases, making it easier to carry out displacement with low-pressure gas.
