What are the advantages of feeding hydrogen reactors from a low level to a high level or from a high level to a low level? How to make the choice?
Hydrogenation reactors: feed at low level and liquid phase exit at high level for liquid-phase hydrogenation; feed at high level and exit at low level for trickle-bed hydrogenation.
The general purpose is to increase the contact time (or residence time) and thereby improve heat transfer efficiency, which is related to the flow direction of the heat medium, the equipment, and the process.
I don’t think I’ve seen any that go from the bottom to the top
