What is the limit of the pressure difference, and how long can one hold out under such conditions?
As long as the pressure does not exceed the design value, it is fine.
The differential pressure data is in the reactor calculation sheet! Each set of devices varies slightly; the usual weight is 4.5 Kg. As for the extreme cases, I’ve seen values that are 2 to 3 times higher than this, and although no problems occurred in such situations, it’s not recommended to try such extremes. If a problem does arise, it could result in the bending of the internal components such as the crossbeams and bubble trays! In severe cases, it may cause tearing of the protrusions inside the reactor!

Excessive pressure differences cause the pressure-bearing parts of the reactor internals to be subjected to high flow rates, and this can be fully reflected in the pressure drop; it also causes significant damage to the mechanical properties of both the reactor internals and the catalyst.
