Platinum or palladium-based catalysts are used, and the reaction temperature and pressure requirements are not stringent; the main goal is to selectively hydrogenate butadiene and alkynes to convert them into other types of butenes
At what level of diene content should an increase in selective hydrogenation be considered?
Generally, it should not exceed 0.4% in the alkylation feed, and it basically never exceeds 0.05% in the reactor feed; if this level is exceeded, selective hydrogenation needs to be considered
