The energy consumption for hydrocracking in my unit remains quite high, above 54 standard oil units. Could the experts at Haichuan give me some advice?
What size of device? We can consider it based on the equipment
This requires addressing the specific issues; understanding the detailed conditions of your equipment is necessary in order to come up with appropriate solutions. The energy-saving measures for hydrogenation units generally include the following (for reference): 1. Consider whether hydraulic turbines can be installed in the high-pressure and low-pressure sections. 2. For reactive water injection, it is possible to consider reusing the acidic water from this facility or using purified acidic water. 3. The new hydrogen compressor can be equipped with a Holberg variable flow control system. 4. Air coolers, blower fans, etc. can be equipped with frequency converters and hydraulic couplings. 5. Regarding circulating water, it is possible to consider reducing or turning off the cooling water for the backup pump; however, regulations vary from one organization to another. The cooling water for the equipment in use should be adjusted frequently and precisely according to the ambient temperature and process requirements. 6. Check whether the heat exchange of the calculation device is reasonable. 7. It is worth considering whether there are significant differences in the properties of the raw materials and the design, as well as whether the amount of cold hydrogen used in the cracking bed is excessive. 8. It is sufficient to ensure the hydrogen-to-oil ratio required for the reaction; there is no need to control the speed of the recycle hydrogen compressor at a very high level. 9. If the device produces a large amount of waste hydrogen, membrane separation can be used to recover hydrogen. 10. For stripping towers, fractionation towers, and side-line towers, if steam is used for stripping, the amount of steam should be controlled properly. 11. Recovering the heat from the flue gas of the heating furnace (heat pipe air preheater).
The acidic gas and light fraction gas from the distillation system can be processed and used as combustion gas for the heating furnace
It is indeed quite high; small units generally range from 25 to 28, large units are usually between 18 and 20, while Zhenhai Refining & Chemical’s value lies between 16 and 18. How is your energy consumption calculated?
a. For those with a high processing capacity, hydraulic turbines can be used at the high and low pressure points. b、Purified water from the water recycling unit (purified water for hydrogen production/hydrogenation). c. A stepless control system is used, with variable-frequency equipment employed for the air cooling of pumps. d. The temperature of the water-cooled air is adjusted; it is reduced as much as necessary to avoid unnecessary waste. e. Optimize the heat exchange process, assess whether the heat exchange mechanism of the device is reasonable, adopt a hot feed process to increase the temperature of the raw materials, and use PSA to recover hydrogen from waste hydrogen.
(1) The issue of hydrogen recovery in the central gas separation unit; (2) The issue of C3 recovery from the acidic gases at the top of the stripping tower; (3) Installing variable frequency drives on one of each centrifugal pump; (4) Whether the steam injection amounts in each distillation tower are appropriate; (5) Whether there is steam loss from the steam-traced traps; (6) The plant’s operating load – whether it operates at a low load for extended periods.
