You are reprocessing PSA, right? The function of the coalescer is to remove water, condensate oil, and solid particle contaminants from the feedstock, thereby protecting downstream equipment and preventing erosion.
As the name implies, a coalescer is used to remove the suspension present in the PSA feed, to coalesce the liquid droplets and then eliminate them. This helps to protect the adsorbent and ensures optimal adsorption performance, thereby achieving a certain level of purity for the hydrogen gas.
Just like in diesel hydrogenation coagulators, it removes trace amounts of water to protect the adsorbent. What type of PSA is this, and why does it have a coagulator?
