Material at around 210°C is drawn out from the middle section of the distillation tower; it then enters the residual boiler where it undergoes heat exchange to produce saturated steam at 0.95 MPa and 185°C. What should be done if water supply to this steam drum is interrupted?
There are many reasons for water supply interruptions. In your case, is it a faulty pump, a malfunctioning control valve, an issue with the amount of deoxygenated water, or something else?
Turn off the heat source and do not add water to prevent the pot from exploding
Isolate the heat source, shut off the water supply, reverse the steam flow, and vent from the top of the tank
Reduce the flow rate in the middle section, isolate the drum; once water is available, gradually bring the drum back into use
