You mean that it needs to be done on top of what already exists, and the solution is to address the issue at its source in order to reduce hydrogen consumption; however, such an approach is generally not feasible. The cost of addressing the issue at its source is likely to be much higher than the cost of replenishing hydrogen later on
1. Reduce the temperature of cold high-pressure gas separation as much as possible. 2. Decrease the degree of cracking of the feedstock within the reactor. 3. Lower the sulfur content in the recycled hydrogen after purification. 4. Improve the purity of the fresh hydrogen
Agree. It might be okay to increase the temperature of the hot high-pressure section by 3~5°C as well (provided that the temperature of the cold high-pressure section is kept as low as possible).
