I have two questions; I hope teachers who understand this topic can explain them in detail. 1. We operate a hydrocracking unit; the heavy naphtha we produce is used as feed for reforming. Currently, the bromine index of this naphtha is around 300. How can this value be reduced? The reaction temperature is set at 380 degrees, while the cracking temperature is 370 degrees.
2. The circulation pump located in the middle section of the hydrocracking distillation column stops working every time there is a power outage, whereas other pumps function normally. I would like to ask what the electrical issue is and what causes it.
A high bromine value indicates an abundance of unsaturated hydrocarbons in the naphtha; therefore, the load should be reduced and the system pressure increased
Your pump might not be on the same line as the other pumps
If the bromine value is high, there are many unsaturated hydrocarbons; strive to increase the degree of hydrogenation and consider whether post-treatment agents will be effective
Reasons for stopping the circulation pump: 1. Not on the same circuit; 2. The normal operating load is relatively high; the difference between the rated current and the actual operating current is small. The system will stop if there are fluctuations in current or voltage ; 3. Unbalanced three-phase current in the motor ; Motors come in different wiring configurations: Y-type and delta type.
