Hydrogen production facilities generally do not come equipped with hydrogen storage systems; when demand is low, the production capacity is reduced, as it’s not possible to have a large amount of hydrogen stored on site.
Well, I’ve never seen it stored; it’s made and used on the spot.
For storage, high-pressure cylinders are generally used, with a storage pressure of around 16 MPa. As for how much needs to be stored, it depends on your process requirements.
Regarding that large quantity, whether to use it or not should be determined based on practical considerations – what about the downstream supporting facilities and end-users?
Downstream is hydrogenation. High instantaneous consumption, continuous hydrogenation.
The production capacity of hydrogen production units generally matches that of the downstream hydrogenation units, with production occurring as demand arises. If the downstream units come to a stop or reduce their operating load, the hydrogen production units will correspondingly reduce their load or vent gas.

For storing hydrogen, sphere tanks certainly won’t do, and gas cabinets are even less suitable; it seems that the understanding of PSA is not adequate enough. If it is necessary to store hydrogen, one or several hydrogen cylinders with a pressure of around 15–18 MPa can be used, along with one or two positive-displacement hydrogen compressors. However, this is only a temporary solution; it can generally provide support for only about a dozen hours.
Buy a few vehicles for hydrogen refueling stations, the kind used for transporting compressed gas, like missile trucks.
