In actual production, two types of diesel are often blended together. The properties of the blended diesel generally require further testing and analysis. Is there any method that can be used to estimate the properties of the blended product, thereby reducing the frequency of tests and the time required for analysis?

Given the flash point, specific gravity, boiling range and other properties of the two diesel fuels prior to blending, as well as the blending ratio, software such as PRO/II or ASPEN can be used to simulate and calculate the blended fuel’s flash point and other properties that are relevant for refinery testing.
