The capacity of the liquid ammonia storage tank does not constitute a major hazard source. The ammonia decomposition hydrogen production equipment generates nitrogen-hydrogen mixed gas pipelines for use as protective gas in production, with no storage involved. Is it necessary to conduct a safety assessment for this system?
Doing a safety assessment isn’t necessarily related to whether you constitute a major hazard source, right?
I believe it is necessary to do so; the storage of the hazardous chemical ammonia, along with the production of new hazardous chemicals such as hydrogen and nitrogen, should be classified as activities carried out by units that store and produce hazardous chemicals.
It falls under the category of renovation and expansion, and a simultaneous acceptance inspection is required. A status evaluation is conducted every three years.
