What is the minimum hydrogen content requirement for the raw materials used in dry gas hydrogen production plants? When the hydrogen content in the raw material is low, is it necessary to add some hydrogen to the raw material?
Under normal full-load conditions, the hydrogen content is twice the total olefin content; the purpose of hydrogen is to saturate the olefins and convert organic sulfur into inorganic sulfur. If there is a shortage of hydrogen, olefins tend to coking in the reactor; this shortage can be compensated for by returning a portion of the hydrogen from the PSA outlet back to the feed gas.
For hydrogen production from natural gas, the hydrogen ratio to be controlled is 5-10% of the feed volume; for hydrogen production from coker dry gas, this ratio is 15-20% of the feed volume, or even >20%
