Carbon steel is sufficient; use refractory material for the high-temperature areas
The waste boiler tube sheet and tubes of the sulfur recovery furnace have been changed from carbon steel to 304 stainless steel, and their internal structures have also been upgraded.
Carbon steel must be used. If you use stainless steel, you’re in trouble – leaks are inevitable, as the expansion coefficient of stainless steel differs greatly from that of carbon steel. If the pipes are made of stainless steel while the casing is made of carbon steel, the difference in expansion will be significant, resulting in frequent leaks at the joints where the pipes meet the casing.
