The operating parameters of the device have not changed much; suddenly, the color of the purified water turned black, and the levels of sulfides and ammonia nitrogen were significantly high and unstable. The ammonia nitrogen level in the raw water was 75,000, while that of sulfides was 5,000. The purified water has no ammonia smell but does have a slight odor. I would appreciate it if experts could advise me on how to make adjustments. The unit uses a side-line ammonia extraction method.

The raw materials are not stable; the ammonia nitrogen level can reach up to 76,000, while the sulfide level is 7,600. In the purified water, the ammonia nitrogen level is around 1,000, and the sulfide level is about 1,000 as well
Increase the steam volume, raise the tower temperature, improve water purification, and upgrade the raw water tank.
It’s possible that the raw water has mixed with the purified water; check whether there are leaks in the heat exchangers for raw water and purified water, or in any other connections where mixing could occur.
Inspect heat exchangers levels 1, 2, and 3; increase the bottom temperature and keep the ammonia extraction temperature around 150 degrees
You can try raising the bottom temperature, increase the flow rates of ammonia extraction along the measurement line as well as those of the acidic gas outlet at the top of the tower. Then take samples of purified water from the first, second, and third heat exchangers to check whether there are any leaks in these heat exchangers. Additionally, consider the raw water coming from coking processes; if it contains coke dust, it will also affect the quality of the purified water, and over time it can cause blockages in the tray columns, leading to high liquid levels in the separation vessels of the first, second, and third stages.
