I would like to ask everyone: what are the causes and mechanisms of scaling in plate heat exchangers used in MDEA desulfurization? How is it cleaned, and what chemical agents are generally used? Online or take it off to the repair shop for cleaning?
We experience a similar phenomenon here; it’s not necessarily due to scaling, but rather to impurities in the solvent blocking some of the flow channels in the plate exchanger. We plan to try out the acid washing cycle during the maintenance work to see how it works.
Have you finished cleaning? Is it online or taken apart for cleaning? How is it working?
It hasn’t been repaired yet... I just have this idea!

When this happens, we usually remove the heat exchanger, use a wire to clear the deposits, and then soak it in a low-concentration acid. Scaling is impossible; the water flows through the shell type

Disassemble the plate for cleaning, rinse with a water gun
