Refractory bricks for manholes in sulfur production furnaces

Have any of you encountered this situation? How did you handle it? What kind of material is generally used for refractory bricks?
The material of the refractory bricks should be the same as that of the bricks used for lining (high-alumina bricks are usually used); the key is to ensure proper sealing, otherwise problems may arise due to the leakage of high-temperature air currents.
The handle has become carbonized; I’ve encountered this before—it crumbles upon touch. This is probably caused by high-temperature gases escaping. Sealing is crucial in such cases
