The cost of treating alkaline sludge as hazardous waste is too high. Are there any good ways to handle the alkaline sludge generated during alkali washing and desulfurization processes? For example, could part of it be treated in coking plants in a similar manner to float slag?

The tail gas desulfurization system of the alkali slag sulfur removal unit is treated to utilize waste as a resource for managing other wastes.
The alkaline slag can be sent to the stripping process – in smaller amounts; too much of it affects the levels of sulfides in the purified water
It is injected into the acidic water stripping tower; we have been doing this since 2012, and the results have been quite good.
Refining alkali slag is considered hazardous waste and must be disposed of by entities with the appropriate qualifications. I’m not sure whether it’s refining alkali slag or petrochemical ethylene alkali slag
Injecting desulfurization alcohol alkali slag into the wastewater stripping tower helps remove ammonia nitrogen, but is not effective for removing sulfides; it is therefore necessary to control the amount and location of the injection.
Inject into the acid water tower to remove solid ammonia
Our unit also faces the problem of handling alkaline slag; we are seeking a process for injecting alkaline slag into an acidic water stripping tower.
We go to the wastewater stripping unit, where the liquid is directly sent into the acidic water storage tank to change its pH value. However, there are also disadvantages: the alkaline residue that results from this process has a complex composition and is quite dirty, which can easily cause blockages in the trays of the stripping tower
Make some modifications so that it goes directly into the preheater along with the raw water; a small amount is sufficient to help remove ammonia nitrogen, but definitely not too much. Order according to your processing volume; decide for yourself
