We are a sulfur-based acid production plant; before the flue gas exits the boiler and enters the converter, it is directed to the sulfur dioxide production unit. Sulfur dioxide is produced using the sodium citrate method. It worked fine in previous years, but recently a large amount of solid sulfur has appeared in the sulfur dioxide system, causing blockages. Even after the system is cleaned, sulfur continues to accumulate and block it after some time.
Due to oxygen deficiency, sublimed sulfur was produced.
It should be, but I don’t know what reducing agent is present; after the solution becomes cloudy, its pH drops below 2. It seems that sodium carbonate is being consumed by some substance, and as a result, the sodium citrate solution can no longer absorb sulfur dioxide very well! ! We need technical support :( We can’t figure out what it is

It’s not sublimed sulfur; that’s for sure
