Add temporary heat tracing pipelines to remove the vast majority of sulfur, and finally clean the remaining sulfur manually at the bottom.
In the liquid sulfur tank we have designed, under normal conditions, the bottom surface of the liquid flow chamber is inclined, with the lowest point located below the liquid sulfur pump in the tank. The liquid sulfur pump can almost pump out sulfur. Only what remains in the grooves at the low points stays there. Please leave your contact information for the specific details
Under normal conditions, when the plant is shut down, the liquid sulfur pump should empty the liquid sulfur in the tank, at which point the heating coil should be exposed.
After injecting liquid sulfur here, it’s not possible to empty the liquid sulfur in the tank; the coils inside the tank remain covered with sulfur, making it very difficult to clean them
Typically, the liquid sulfur tank has a lowest point at the location of the liquid sulfur pump; after the liquid sulfur is drained, aside from some sulfur remaining at that lowest point, there should be no sulfur elsewhere, otherwise there is a problem with the design.
After the liquid sulfur was used up, we used a hammer to break it up; that’s how we did it back then. All the sulfur at the bottom was removed, and the lid of the liquid sulfur tank was completely taken off. It was important to ensure good ventilation, and two water pipes were used to bring up the dozens of tons of solid sulfur that had to be removed by hand – it was extremely exhausting
To address the anti-corrosion issue in the liquid sulfur tank, it was cleaned twice; every tool imaginable was used – wires, chisels, scrapers – and it was extremely exhausting work. The sulfur that was removed piled up into mountains, and it had to be bagged by hand throughout the night. We also can’t remove all the liquid sulfur; there is still sulfur at the bottom of the coil. ;P
A liquid sulfur tank is generally designed to have a sulfur collection pit; after the sulfur is drained, only a small amount remains
