Dear teachers, the flow meters for our regenerated acidic gas stream, the pressure transmitters, the sampling ports, as well as the sampling ports for process gas often get clogged. How do you prevent this from happening, and what measures do you take once it does occur?

Please send the schematic diagram of the device you are using; I don’t know which type you have. It generally doesn’t get clogged, unless there is a design flaw, as it contains structures like a venturi. For that type of flow meter, a gas washing device is required; in addition, a heater is needed as well as a fibrous filter. The pressure loss is very low, but the downside is that its range of operation is limited. Its filtration efficiency for particles larger than 50 nanometers is 99.5%. It’s better to use imported versions – they aren’t expensive. I haven’t encountered any that are well-made domestically. Message me for the pictures and diagrams, free of charge. 2. Pressure transmission equipment: This is usually due to improper installation or issues with connections in certain areas; generally there are no problems. However, if solids remain inside the pipes after an accident, then the pressure levels will not be accurate going forward. At the same time, appropriate maintenance methods are required; remote interference must be avoided, and specific issues need to be analyzed on a case-by-case basis. It can be solved with the assistance of an engineer who understands electricity. The main strategy is to measure the voltage to determine whether the problem lies with the pressure transmission device itself or with the measuring device. If there is no problem with the equipment itself, but the issue lies in the connection, there are specific techniques for maintaining the pressure measurement devices. It is essential to stop the equipment completely before carrying out any maintenance; usually, this involves removing foreign objects from the connection or eliminating any dead zones. Of course, each case needs to be analyzed on its own. I have only done this before; generally, it’s sufficient to turn to manufacturers of pressure sensors. However, I was abroad at that time, and if the after-sales service in China wasn’t reliable, I could only offer some suggestions – most problems can be resolved. 3. Sampling port: A separate online sampler is required for the sampling port, and this is a patented technology. If you’re interested, I can sell you a set of equipment; it’s quite small and requires manual operation. Contact us on the site if interested
The heat tracing isn’t working properly; moreover, the blockage at the process gas sampling port is likely caused by sulfur, rather than salts
There’s no need to say so much; the key to salt formation is temperature – once the temperature reaches a certain level, salt formation stops. Ensuring proper heat retention is crucial!
Can pressure measurement also provide heating? Online measurement can indeed be accompanied by heating, but can the flow meter itself also be heated? If it’s a domestic flow meter, then there’s no need to mention it – its accuracy is low anyway, so it certainly doesn’t matter if there are a few more errors. There is no need for heating at the sampling port at all; a backflush cleaning is sufficient, so why is heating required?
The temperature control of the regenerated acidic gas should be set at a higher level. Additionally, the circulation rate in the quench tower can be increased, as the purpose of this tower is indeed to purify and cool the gas
