Pyridine is the solvent. The O-rings used in our company’s compressors basically stop working on the same day they are installed; when a fluorinated material was used, they stopped working after 4 days. I would like to ask for advice from those who are familiar with this issue {:1_90:}
Can it be sealed with a harder material, such as a graphite gasket?
{:3_54:} Inorganic materials, or perfluorinated ones, as well as rubber or fluororubber – any of these work well
Pyridine – what kind of solution is this? Is it corrosive? What are the operating temperature and pressure? If graphite is an option, then metal-wrapped graphite or metal-wrapped PTFE gaskets should work!
Gaskets made from PTFE sheets have been used as substitutes for O-rings; however, on the moving parts of the device, leakage occurs as soon as the mechanism moves, and since PTFE is a rigid material without any expansion capability, it cannot maintain a seal.
Piston structure, reciprocating motion; the sealing ring seals through expansion against the outer circle, so hard materials are not suitable.
Pyridine is a high-strength solvent; rubber doesn’t work
Oh, it’s the seal ring inside the piston pump. In such a case, it’s best to consult the manufacturer, as well as manufacturers specialized in producing seals for piston pumps. Provide them with the operating parameters and equipment details; I believe the problem can be resolved@! :)
Could you recommend any manufacturers that specialize in sealing?
The manufacturer came several times and finally gave up! ! ! :@
