Currently, many design firms in China do not prepare their own process packages; especially smaller design companies usually purchase the process package documents from process technology providers and use those as a basis for carrying out engineering design. Do you have any good experiences to share on how to properly understand the process package, thoroughly grasp its technical documents, and make fewer mistakes during the engineering design process?
Which process package are you using? If you fully understand the contents of that process package, that’s fine. If there’s anything you don’t know about the process package, feel free to bring it up for discussion
Converting the process package documents into construction drawings is itself a design process. If the process package documents are not fully understood, some design deviations may occur. For example, if the designers responsible for pipeline installation do not fully understand the PID diagrams in the process package, the construction drawings may contain discrepancies from the requirements specified in that process package (along with other issues as well). Do any of you have any good experiences to share in this regard?
With the process package available, it is necessary to become familiar with its contents; To master the technical principles of the process ; It is necessary to understand the properties of various materials within the process package ; And accurately grasp the control targets and requirements for various parameters within the process package. When converting the requirements from the process package into construction drawings, it is necessary to choose the appropriate construction equipment and material types, arrange the facilities properly; the rest depends on design experience as well as whether there is practical construction experience available.
