The sealing glass of the foam generator in our factory keeps breaking; we have to replace it seven or eight times a year. This causes the gas in the storage tank to leak out, corroding the tank walls and contaminating the environment. I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience; are there any good solutions?
We also have some that are broken; we don’t know how to replace them yet.

The key is to thoroughly investigate the cause of the breakage – whether it was overpressure inside the tank or a quality issue with the glass itself. It is recommended to first check whether there are any violations of the operating parameters regarding temperature and pressure in the operation and use of the storage tank by your unit (or whether the safety accessories such as the tank’s breather valve, hydraulic safety valve, and pressure relief vents are functioning properly). If everything is fine, then contact the foam generator manufacturer to see if the design pressure of the glass plate is too low; the strength of the glass plate can be improved by adjusting the material used, its thickness, and the depth of the grooves (of course, this must be done with the manufacturer’s approval, and it’s best to use original manufacturer parts).
Well, it’s all fate; once it’s broken, I don’t know how to replace it. The other departments are just laughing at this, haha
It’s the same here; there are often defective ones, and fewer defective vertical models, with no reason for it ever being identified
Haha, I specialize in this area. New glass is flexible, while glass that is exposed to wind and rain for a long time ages and becomes brittle, making it prone to cracking on its own
Mine also breaks frequently; it’s a pressure-free container, and I think it’s a glass issue
Did it break without any foam being produced? Foam will break after being hit; our warehouse often encounters this problem due to frequent practical drills.

The DCS samples data at intervals; if the overpressure leads to discharge in a very short time, the DCS may not be able to record the curve. 2. To confirm once again whether the issue lies with the quality of the glass sheets, obtain a few sheets from the same batch that were installed at the same time and conduct a pressure resistance test. 3. Temperature changes must be taken into account; glass and the pressing elements (some made of aluminum alloy, others of steel) have different expansion coefficients when temperatures change. If the temperature changes too rapidly, cracking may also occur. By the way, at our facility we mainly use lead sheets; brittle fractures occur very rarely during use, but they are not resistant to hydrogen sulfide corrosion – each material has its own advantages and disadvantages.
