May I ask Haiyou: 30% hydrochloric acid, supplied by tank trucks, and discharged using fluoroplastic centrifugal pumps. What kind of connection hoses and fittings are the proper ones to use? Are there any relevant standards?
Fluororubber, the one with a very sour taste
Fluororubber is not resistant to sunlight exposure; it tends to harden easily when used outdoors, which is not ideal
I’m using it now, but it doesn’t seem standard. I also heard some time ago that someone ran into trouble because of this (I don’t know what exactly happened)
A metal hose with a PTFE lining should work
I have seen many chemical pumps of the IHF series (with a metal casing lined with polytetrafluoroethylene) used for pumping hydrochloric acid; within less than two years, the metal casing gets corroded and penetrated due to hydrochloric acid seeping into it. Considering this situation, I believe that any pipes or fittings made of iron or ordinary alloys are not suitable for use in scenarios involving the discharge of hydrochloric acid, as frequent connection and disconnection operations will inevitably cause hydrochloric acid to drip onto the exterior, leading to corrosion.
