There is an article titled “The Fake Spring,” which goes something like this: A traveler gets lost in the desert and has not had any water to drink for several days. Suddenly, he faintly saw a clear spring ahead. He struggled to climb over, but it was just shiny sand, which disappointed him greatly. He continued to walk unsteadily. Suddenly, he saw a pool of water ahead; he walked over, but there was still nothing there. He was on the verge of collapsing, when suddenly he saw water again, both real and illusory. He thought it must have been his hallucination. He was finally disappointed and collapsed to the ground... Soon people found him, and it was puzzling why he had died of thirst with a tired expression by a pool of clear water. And the pond was only one step away from him... (Management Training). After reading this story, everyone will feel sorry for the traveler, but there is nothing that can be done. Just one step left! Yet it is this very step that can determine the fate of one’s life. The traveler ruined his own life. If such a thing happens in the workplace, it means ruining one’s career and future.
