According to clause 8.5.3 of the CNPC oil depot construction standards, organized drainage can be used for oil tank roofs. Does “this clause” refer to an external floating roof? This requirement was mentioned in foreign projects for vaults, aimed at reducing the amount of wastewater in the tank area.
It probably refers to all storage tanks – that is, the footplates at the top of the tank guards are fully welded, and pipes are used to guide rainwater away.
It refers to fixed-roof tanks, in areas with abundant rainfall; in such cases, rainwater on the tank roof is discharged in an organized manner to prevent prolonged water flow from damaging the paint on the tank walls (an idea that is somewhat innovative). This is a practice used in certain places, and it has been included as a provision in this standard. Of course, there are also the reasons mentioned on the 2nd floor.
For rainwater recycling, it’s sufficient to establish the slope according to the requirements of the water supply and drainage system; there’s no need to consider how to arrange drainage at the roof of the storage tank
