Do chemical process pipeline bolts require spring washers? Why is it hardly visible these days, but today I suddenly saw something rare – bolts in many places have spring washers. Does anyone know if there are any clear guidelines regarding this, or whether it’s required to be included or not? Is it necessary to add it under specific operating conditions?
Using spring washers can prevent nuts from loosening, especially in devices and pipes that are subject to vibration.
Normally, according to the requirements of pipeline construction standards, spring washers are required in all cases. However, during construction, in areas where vibration is minimal or absent, depending on the operating conditions, spring washers can be used selectively.
