There are 5 types of specialized qualifications for environmental engineering design, namely: water pollution control projects, air pollution control projects, solid waste treatment and disposal projects, physical pollution control projects, and pollution remediation projects. Each of these specialized qualification categories for environmental engineering design is further divided into two grades: Grade A and Grade B. With a Class A environmental design qualification, one is able to undertake specialized design work and general contracting projects for various types of environmental engineering projects within the scope of this qualification (including buildings and structures as well as custom-designed equipment), with no restrictions on scale. Grade B is qualified to undertake specialized design and general contracting projects for environmental engineering on a scale of medium size or below, within the scope of its specific qualifications (including buildings and structures as well as custom-designed equipment).
