In August, our unit’s control room will be moved to the main control room, where it will carry out daily production operations along with other units; the original control room will then be used as an outdoor operation area. As a process engineer, what do I need to prepare during this period, and how can I plan ahead? This is the first time I’ve encountered the need to move to a control room, so I hope my fellow Sichuanese friends can offer me more advice. Thank you.
Just follow the leader’s instructions; you can prepare your belongings in advance, and there’s nothing else to prepare
There are no major changes in the operations; it’s easier to communicate with the devices upstream and downstream – just standing up and calling out is more convenient than using the phone. One needs to keep one’s own belongings in order, as well as maintain cleanliness on the control room’s own operation console. The control room is usually located far away from the devices, so it’s important to assign tasks related to cleaning and inspection for those working inside the control room. Actually, there’s not much to prepare for; it’s just necessary to avoid being as careless as one would be outside. Those who come to inspect the control room must enter it~~~~
The operation interface and process control parameters remain the same; only the external environment has changed. In my opinion, the following aspects should be prepared: get familiar as soon as possible with all the components and their functions in the new control room, master the use of escape routes and fire suppression systems, understand the procedures and methods for switching between the main power supply and backup power supply in the new control room, know the procedures and methods for activating the fire exhaust systems in the new control room, and become aware of the layout of plumbing systems, fresh air systems, communication facilities, lighting, and so on in the new control room
