I have visited several Japanese chemical plants, where the practice of pointing-based naming is commonly used. This method involves uttering sounds to reconfirm the tasks to be carried out before starting operations on-site or via DCS, while also pointing at the object involved in those tasks, thereby ensuring better confirmation and preventing mistakes. It feels natural at Japanese factories, but in China, most people find it not so natural. It is indeed an excellent measure to prevent accidental operations. Should it be adopted in our facilities?
