In some places, the operation of removing water from storage tanks is referred to as “dehydration”. Fellow sailors, what is the difference between dehydration and water removal?
Water cutting refers to the removal of the water that has been separated, while dehydration is an umbrella term for a whole set of processing steps. It’s just my personal opinion.
Draining water from storage tanks generally refers to the presence of a small amount of water inside them； The process for safely discharging water later on, due to quality or anti-freezing requirements ； It generally refers to the fact that some liquefied hydrocarbon storage tanks contain a small amount of water (as specified in GB50160). Dehydration generally refers to a process in which water content is high, and water is removed through various processing units. Thank you!
Water removal involves removing water after the separation of oil and water. Dehydration is more complex; for example, it involves the formation of new substances through intermolecular dehydration, the removal of crystalline water from products that contain it, and the drying of products. This is just my personal opinion
