The goal of lean production is to satisfy customers, and it achieves this through four aspects: safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery. Safety is of primary importance, but there’s no need to worry about it constantly, as lean production itself provides support for safety throughout the entire process. Just-in-Time production (JIT) is a lean production method that originated at Toyota Motor Company in Japan. Its basic principle is to produce the necessary products only at the time when they are needed, and in the quantity required. The key to such lean production methods is to pursue perfection in a production system with no inventory, or a production system that keeps inventory at its minimum level. 2. Single-piece flow JIT is the ultimate goal of lean production; it is maintained by adhering to practical principles such as continuously eliminating unnecessary waste, controlling costs, reducing defects, and shortening production cycles. Single-piece flow is one of the most important techniques for helping people achieve this overall goal. 3. Kanban management: A management kanban can serve as a means for communicating and managing production information within a factory. Management dashboard cards contain a considerable amount of information and can be used continuously. There are two common types of management dashboards: production dashboards and transportation management dashboards. Management dashboards are relatively immediate and attract worldwide attention; they are very easy to manage. 4. Zero inventory management method: Inventory management in manufacturing plants is a part of supply chain management, and it represents one of the most fundamental aspects of it. In terms of the processing industry, improving inventory management can reduce and gradually eliminate the time that raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished goods spend in storage, thereby cutting down downtime and waiting times. It also helps to avoid stockouts and increases customer satisfaction regarding key factors such as quality, cost, and delivery times. ?A high level of WIP inventory can cause confusion in our aggregations; items need to be matched according to demand. 5. Total Productive Maintenance (TPM): By involving all employees, it aims to create high-quality equipment systems, improve the utilization rate of existing equipment, ensure safety and quality, and prevent failures; thereby enabling the company to reduce costs and enhance overall productivity. It not only reflects 5S, but more importantly, it covers safety analysis in work and production safety management. 6. Utilize value stream mapping to identify excessive waste. Excessive waste is widespread throughout the processing process, and value stream mapping is a fundamental and essential tool for implementing lean production systems and eliminating waste at every stage of the process. Using statistical data to show the relationship between extravagance and waste on one hand, and economic efficiency on the other, makes things simple and clear. 7. Concepts for the balanced design of production lines: An unscientific layout of the production line leads to workers moving around unnecessarily, thereby increasing costs and reducing efficiency; an unsound distribution of tasks and inefficient processing routes cause workers to repeatedly lift or place metal parts. Evaluations are crucial these days, and making an overall plan on the spot is also vital. It’s best to save costs. Only then can it ensure twice the result with half the effort. 8. Pull system software and filling the pull system software: In other words, to drive production, kanban management is used as a method. The “pull system” means that subsequent processes carry out production based on market demands; for processes where there is a shortage of certain products, the previous processes take the same amount as required, thereby creating an automated control system that prevents overproduction of those products. JIT must be based on driving production and manufacturing, while pull system operations are a typical feature of lean production. Lean production strives for perfect zero inventory, which is primarily maintained through the working principles of the pull system. 9. Reduce the setup time (SetupReduction) in order to minimize the waste associated with line downtime. Reducing the setup time involves gradually eliminating and cutting out all tasks that do not add value, and replacing them with activities that can be carried out without causing downtime. Lean production is maintained by continuously eliminating unnecessary waste, controlling costs, reducing defects, and shortening production cycles, among other practical requirements; reducing setup time is one of the key techniques that help achieve this goal. 10. Continuous improvement (Kaizen): When the value to be delivered is clearly defined from the outset, the value stream is identified, each process involved in creating that value for specific products is made continuous, and customers are enabled to drive the creation of value through the company, then miracles begin to occur. Implementing lean production techniques requires strong commitment from top management as well as the participation of all employees; therefore, it is extremely important to enhance the entire organization’s understanding of lean production. Lean production must be integrated into everyday management practices, and this requires the implementation of appropriate strategies and promotional efforts, as well as coordination with existing HR policies. Without integrating lean production into daily management, true continuous improvement cannot be achieved.
