Hello everyone: In the current political and environmental landscape, if one were a workshop supervisor tasked with managing a newly installed facility, how should they proceed with their work? (Safety/personal business can both be discussed) What skills should one need to master?

Based on my experience, for new installations that are still under construction, it’s important to thoroughly review the design documents and become familiar with the construction process, in order to avoid design flaws or construction mistakes ； If it is already in operation, then the operating procedures, process parameters, staffing, and task allocation should all be in place; optimization is only needed during operation ； As the workshop supervisor, the relevant skills go without saying: one must be familiar with processes, equipment, operations, as well as the associated safety requirements (management measures and technical specifications). It’s not necessary to be an expert in these areas, but one definitely cannot be ignorant of them ； As a leader, one needs the courage to take responsibility and make decisions ； It’s best not to discuss safety separately (of course, emphasizing safety specifically is a different matter). Everyone’s job includes safety requirements; it’s not about who will provide safety protection.
