When performing a LOPA analysis, is there a concept of SIL rating for safety valves? Is there any certification in China?
The emergency shut-off valve has a SIL rating
There is no such thing as a SIL rating for safety valves, nor for emergency shut-off valves; the SIS system does have SIL ratings
I’ve never heard of a safety valve; valves do exist, and certifications are available as well
When implementing LOPA, the PSV safety valve can serve as two separate protection layers (depending on factors such as the cleanliness of the medium); the valve has a SIL rating, usually SIL1/SIL2, as higher ratings come at too high a cost
