Which standard should be followed? Are shut-off valves required at both the inlet and outlet for tanks with a capacity of over 3,000 cubic meters, while only an inlet valve is needed and no outlet valve for those with a capacity of less than 3,000 cubic meters? Is that correct? I would appreciate some guidance from experts; it would be great if the implementation standards could be explained. Thank you!

However, all our storage tanks are currently equipped with high and low level interlocks, and some of those that are toxic or highly hazardous are also integrated into the SIS. It’s no longer the era of 3000m3; it’s better to act early rather than late.
I. High liquid level interlock: 1. Pressure tanks and tanks storing liquids of toxicity levels I and II shall be equipped with a high liquid level interlock (no requirement regarding tank capacity); 2. Flammable liquid storage tanks of Class A B and Class B A with a capacity of 3000 m3 or more, Class B B flammable liquid storage tanks with a capacity of over 5000 m3, and other liquid storage tanks with a capacity of 10000 m3 or more shall be equipped with high-high level interlocks (requirements depend on the tank capacity and/or the fire hazard of the stored material). Judging from this description, it should still be 3,000 cubic meters.
As stated in Article 4 of the criteria for identifying major hazards,
It depends on where your company is located; In the Jiangsu region, regardless of the size of the storage tank, discussions with the design institute a few days ago indicated that installation is required once the volume exceeds 1 m3. (Jiangsu has issued a document, but the volume of the storage tank is not specified.)
All need to be installed. Even a secondary valve is necessary.
It seems that the latest industry standards in our sector require speed-controlled isolation valves and secondary control valves at the inlets and outlets, as well as integration with the SIS interlock system!
Now it’s actually required to be installed; from a safety perspective, people are quite cautious about it
Accelerated shut-off valves should be installed at the entrances and exits, along with secondary manual valves.
