It is a three-effect sulfuric acid evaporation unit; the heat exchange area of each of the first, second, and third effect evaporators is 40 square meters. The temperature of the feed steam is 125 degrees, and the vacuum level in the third effect is -0.8. The evaporation capacity does not meet the required level of 2 tons. I would appreciate any advice you can offer.
Where was it designed? Is the total area of the three effects 120 square meters? How big is the vacuum pump? What about the separator?
Let’s mention steam quality! Up to 140 degrees!
What type of heater is used? In this case, graphite is often chosen. The three-way distribution is incorrect; the sizes of the three components are definitely not all the same. The same applies to the evaporator – the greater the vacuum, the larger its diameter. Under steam conditions of 120, it is average; high vacuum can be achieved with difficulty. The main issue is still the allocation of the three effects.

Since the heat exchange area of the heat exchanger is fixed, the only way to do this is to increase the temperature difference for heat transfer; in this case, raising the steam temperature is the only method to increase the evaporation rate.
