Please discuss and exchange information based on actual production experiences regarding the locations where water hammer occurs, its frequency, causes, and methods for eliminating it.
In the phase change from saturated steam to saturated liquid, the most prominent change is the change in volume. Saturated steam inside equipment pipes or containers will liquefy when it comes into contact with a temperature lower than that at which it is saturated; the volume of this liquid phase decreases by a factor of 800, on average. What methods are used when the condensate enters the tank? Enter from the top or bottom? Insert at the bottom? Where is the control valve on the pipeline leading into the tank?
Set as needed. I don’t understand the term “condensate entering the tank”. It is best to discuss it in terms of the saturation pressure of the medium’s phase as a function of temperature.
